1. Information We Collect

Information you provide: When you play as a guest, we collect the display name you choose for your session. When you purchase a session, we require authentication via Google Sign-In, which provides us your name, email address, and profile picture as shared by your Google account. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number or billing address.

Gameplay data: We collect and store data generated during your sessions, including but not limited to: your in-game actions and messages, room navigation, clue discoveries, NPC interactions, accusation choices, session duration, and outcomes. This data is used to power gameplay features, maintain game state, and improve the Service.

Technical data: We automatically collect standard technical information such as browser type, device type, IP address, and general usage patterns to maintain and improve the Service.

Local storage: Some preferences and session history are stored locally in your browser via localStorage. This data does not leave your device unless you are signed in and interact with our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to: (a) provide, maintain, and improve the Service; (b) enable multiplayer gameplay sessions and recover join codes across devices; (c) process payments and associate purchased sessions with your account; (d) communicate with you about your purchases or support requests; (e) prevent abuse and ensure fair play; (f) analyze and improve game design through aggregated data analytics.

3. Anonymized Analytics and Data Licensing

We may create anonymized, aggregated datasets from gameplay activity across all sessions. These datasets do not contain your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information. Individual users cannot be identified from this aggregated data.

We may license anonymized, aggregate gameplay analytics to third parties including game developers, researchers, publishers, and technology companies for purposes such as game design research, AI development, and entertainment industry analysis. We do not sell individual-level data or any data that could be used to identify you.

4. AI-Generated Content

Gameplay interactions are processed by Anthropic's AI services to generate narrative content in real time. Your in-game actions and messages are transmitted to Anthropic as part of normal gameplay. We do not send your name, email, or account information to Anthropic — only your chosen display name and in-session activity. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by their own privacy policy and API terms.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

Service providers: We share data with third-party providers necessary to operate the Service: Anthropic (AI narrative generation), Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (data storage and authentication infrastructure), Google (Sign-In and profile data), and Vercel (hosting). Each provider's use of your data is governed by their own privacy policy.

Aggregate analytics: As described in Section 3, we may license anonymized, aggregated gameplay data to third parties. This data cannot be traced back to any individual user.

Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.

6. Data Retention

We retain gameplay data and purchase records indefinitely for service improvement and analytics purposes. Personally identifiable information associated with your account (name, email, purchase history) is retained as long as your account exists or as required by applicable law. Anonymized aggregate data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked to any individual.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You may request deletion of any personally identifiable data associated with your account by contacting privacy@scriptweaver.studio. Upon verified request, we will delete your account data, purchase records, and any player profiles linked to your user ID. Note that anonymized aggregate data cannot be individually identified or deleted.

If you played as a guest and stored session data in your browser, you can delete that data at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for this site.

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including the right to access, correct, or port your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address above.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
