Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ScriptWeaver ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Use of the Service constitutes your acceptance of any changes we make to these Terms going forward.

2. Description of Service

ScriptWeaver provides AI-narrated interactive mystery experiences playable in groups. The Service includes world browsing, session purchase and management, multiplayer gameplay, and related features. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time with or without notice.

3. Accounts and Session Codes

You may join games as a guest using a display name. Purchasing a session requires a Google account so that your join code can be permanently associated with your account and recovered on any device.

Join code validity: Purchased session codes are valid for 90 days from the date of purchase. After 90 days, unused codes expire and the session can no longer be accessed. Expiry dates are displayed in your My Games dashboard. We recommend scheduling your game well before the expiry date.

You are responsible for safeguarding your join code. Do not share it with anyone you do not intend to invite to your game session.

4. Payments and Refunds

All purchases are processed securely through Stripe. Prices are displayed in USD and are subject to change without notice. Payment is due at the time of purchase.

Refund eligibility: We want every session to be a great experience. Refunds are available under the following conditions:

Full refund — technical failure: If a verified bug or service error prevented your session from functioning as intended (e.g., game failed to load, AI narrator was unresponsive, session could not be joined despite a valid code), you are entitled to a full refund. To request a refund, contact us at support@scriptweaver.studio with your join code and a description of the issue. We may verify the failure using server-side logs before issuing a refund.

No refund: Refunds are not available for: change of mind; group cancellations or scheduling failures on your end; dissatisfaction with the narrative content or game difficulty; or codes that expired unused after the 90-day validity window.

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure; (c) attempt to manipulate the AI narrator to produce harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content; (d) reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract game content, world data, or narrative structures from the Service; (e) share session codes publicly or resell access to sessions you have purchased; (f) use automated tools to interact with the Service.

We reserve the right to terminate access for any user who violates these terms, without refund.

6. Intellectual Property

All game worlds, narratives, artwork, software, and other content comprising the Service are the property of ScriptWeaver or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Service content without our express written permission.

AI-generated narrative content produced during your gameplay session is provided for personal entertainment use only and may not be published, sold, or used commercially without our written consent.

7. Gameplay Data and Analytics

By using the Service, you agree that we may collect and retain anonymized gameplay data including, but not limited to: session duration, room navigation patterns, clue discovery sequences, NPC interaction frequency, and accusation outcomes. This data does not include your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information.

Aggregate analytics licensing: We may license anonymized, aggregate gameplay analytics to third parties including game developers, researchers, publishers, and technology companies for purposes such as game design research, AI development, and entertainment industry analysis. Any data shared or licensed in this manner will be aggregated across many sessions and stripped of all personal identifiers such that individual users cannot be identified.

We retain gameplay data indefinitely for service improvement and analytics purposes. You may request deletion of any personally identifiable data associated with your account by contacting privacy@scriptweaver.studio. Note that anonymized aggregate data cannot be individually identified or deleted.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers including Anthropic (AI narrative generation), Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (data storage), and Google (authentication). Your use of these services is also governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate, appropriate, or meet your expectations.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ScriptWeaver and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [YOUR STATE], United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in [YOUR COUNTY/STATE], and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
